Full Professor
Sabrina Dallavalle is a full professor in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) at the University of Milan.
She has a background in organic and medicinal chemistry, with specific training and expertise in the synthesis and structural elucidation of biologically active organic substances.
In 1995 she obtained her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Milan. In 1996 she joined Prof Luisi’s group at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). In 1997 she moved back to Milan at the Department of Molecular and Agrifood Sciences (now DeFENS).
Since October 2024 Sabrina Dallavalle is the Head of the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences.
She is the author of more than 150 original reserach papers on peer-reviewed international journals with impact factor and 14 patents.
She is a Member of the Board of the PhD course in Food Systems. Since 2019 she is Adjunct Professor at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Kandy, Sri Lanka
