PhD Student
Francesca Sacchi obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engeneering at Politecnico di Milano in July 2018 and her Master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Milan in December 2021 with a thesis on the synthesis of bivalent compounds targeting SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein.
In March 2022 she won a research fellowship for promising graduates at the Department of Food, Envitonmental and Nutritional Science (DeFENS) at the University of Milan, focusing her research on the design and synthesis of molecules with antimicrobial activity under the supervision of Prof. Sabrina Dallavalle.
Francesca is currently a PhD student in Food system (XXXVIII cycle) under the supervision of Prof. Fessas and Prof. Cortesi in the Organic and Food Chemistry laboratories. She is working on the synthesis of natural compounds and derivatives with antimicrobial potential and she is studing the interaction of the bioactives with molecular target throught calorimetric technique in collaboration with the laboratory of calorimetry and thermal analysis.
