Dr. Francesca Annunziata, PhD

Francesca Annunziata obtained her master´s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology cum laude at the University of Milan in 2018 in the Med&Flow Lab.

In the same year she won a a research fellowship for promising graduates founded by Chiesi S.p.a. at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Milan. The research foused on the optimization of continuous flow Mitsunobu reaction for the synthesis of a novel phosphoinositide-3-kinase inhibitor clinic candidate.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry in November 2022 with a thesis on the development of sustainable and efficient tailor-made processes for pharma and food applications under the supervision of Prof. Tamborini. Her thesis was awarded in 2023 as Best Doctoral Thesis from the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society.

Since February 2023 she is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Milan, at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences.
