Professor Martina Letizia Contente has been awarded the prestigious Felix Franks Medal by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

We are proud to announce that Professor Martina Letizia Contente is the winner of the Felix Franks Biotechnology Medal, awarded by the Royal Society of Chemistry to the best under-40 chemist in the field of biotechnology. The prize was conferred to her “in recognition of her internationally groundbreaking contributions to Chemical Biotechnology with a particular focus on biocatalysis for the sustainable production of high-value chemicals, including bioactive molecules.” This prestigious international recognition highlights the excellence of Italian research in the fields of biocatalysis and sustainable chemistry. Professor Contente will officially receive the medal during the “Biotransformations III” conference, which will be held at the RSC headquarters in Burlington House, London, on December 16, 2025.
